The way beef should be!

Looking for an accompaniment to serve with your Intervale Farm
squash?
Look no further! Our grass-fed beef will round out
your meal.
Our Angus steers are rotationally grazed for the season on rolling
grass fields.
Most beef bought at your local store is from cattle finished at feed lots where
they are confined and fed a heavy diet of corn and grains to fatten them
up. Cattle were meant to eat grass! Grass-fed beef is better
for your health than corn-finished beef. It is higher in the
healthy Omega-3 fatty acids, and lower in saturated fat than
corn-finished beef. Our cattle graze on fresh green grass all summer. Although we could produce 100%
grass-fed beef, our philosophy is to feed them just a little grain 'for dessert'. Cattle
do LOVE grain! And kids do LOVE cookies!
But you wouldn't feed your kids cookies all day! And, cattle
shouldn't eat grain all day. We give our cattle just one
or two pounds of grain a day. This does three things: it keeps
them happy; it gives us daily contact with our animals keeping them
friendly, and it makes the beef just tender enough without all of the
fat.
If you are interested in our grass-fed beef, we will be filling orders
in May or June. We sell our beeves
whole, by the half and by the quarter. Please call 207-926-3008 or
